Commemoration and Celebration: The British Academy and the Jewish Refugee Academics in Britain after 1933

The British Academy, in partnership with the Association of Jewish Refugees, will host an event to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Thank-Offering to Britain Fund at the British Academy. The event will celebrate the achievements of a handful of refugee academics who escaped to Britain in the 1930s, considering their early lives as well as the great impact of their work on UK academia and the wider world. It will also serve to commemorate the lives of those who were not able to escape.
