Data Protection Policy

The British Academy has a data protection policy that is intended to establish a framework of controls that will facilitate compliance with the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998.

Users who wish to enquire whether the British Academy holds any personal data concerning them, or who wish to discuss the manner in which any such data are processed, should write to the address shown below or send an e-mail to: r.hopwood@britac.ac.uk. Proof of identity will be required before any data can be disclosed.

Privacy Statement

The British Academy does not make use of a visitor's IP address, or other session information that is automatically captured by our web server, for any purpose other than system administration and to provide statistics that we use to evaluate use of the site.

'Cookies' are not used by the British Academy to collect information about visits to the site (Cookies are small pieces of coding that may be installed by a web-site host onto a visitor's computer without their knowledge).

Use of this site does not require a visitor to disclose personal information unless they choose to give it. At any point where a visitor is requested to supply personal data an explanation will be given of how this information may be used by the British Academy.

This Privacy Statement does not cover the privacy practices of other websites to which there are links from this site.
