Substantial quantities of medieval stained glass survive in Britain, in magnificent settings like York Minster and Wells Cathedral, as well as more humble parish churches and secular buildings. The CVMA is dedicated to the publication of all medieval stained glass (to 1540) in Great Britain in volumes that focus either upon a county, or upon single monuments with outstanding collections of glass. Two further thematic volumes are devoted to national surveys of roundels, a popular form in the later middle ages.
