The Early English Church Music project makes available church music by British composers from the Norman Conquest to the Commonwealth, in a form both scholarly and practical. A long-term project, it is currently focussed on music before 1400; fifteenth-century music; late-fifteenth and early-sixteenth century Latin church music; and Anglican church music, areas in which the series has made a decisive contribution. The series includes work by anonymous and undeservedly neglected figures, as well as much of the output of acknowledged masters such as Thomas Tallis, John Taverner and John Sheppard.
