This paper explores the dissemination of Mazzini's ideas among the exiles and the radicals in London through the Chartist press, in the context of the debates on the 'Manifestoes' of 1844-48, including the 'Communist Manifesto' of Marx and Engels and the nationalist Polish Manifesto.
