Howard Glennnerster is Professor Emeritus, London School of Economics, author of British Social Policy since 1945; Understanding the Finance of Welfare; and, with John Hills, David Piachaud and Jo Webb the recent Joseph Rowntree Foundation publication One hundred years of poverty and policy.
