Transnational Cinemas in Latin America: the cases of Mexico, Argentina and Brazil

To coincide with the launch of the 7th Discovering Latin America (DLA) Film Festival, Professor Paul Julian Smith, FBA, eminent film critic and recently elected fellow of the British Academy, will give a lecture entitled Transnational cinemas in Latin America:  the cases of Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.  Professor Smith has published extensively on the subject of Latin American cinema, including a number of cutting edge articles for Sight and Sound magazine, and the Guardian Film Blog, and the monograph Amores Perros (BFI Modern Classics), for which he secured exclusive access to Alejandro González Iñárritu’s film set.
