Prior to establishing his consultancy John conducted neuroscientific research at a number of institutions, including Cambridge University and the Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School. John retains a substantial interest in neuroscientific progress and especially recent developments in synaesthesia research. An area of particular interest has been consideration of the impact that synaesthesia appears to have had upon creativity in the arts and literature. John is a member of the American Psychological Association and holds Chartered Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society. He has authored/co-authored more than forty scientific articles, including a popular neuroscience book Synaesthesia: The Strangest Thing (2001). He has recently also edited Cognitive Dysfunction in Brain Disorders (2003). |
