Introduction

Imaginative Minds: an Interdisciplinary Symposium was a two-day event funded by the British Academy which took place on 30 April and 1 May 2004, convened by Dr Ilona Roth, senior lecturer in psychology at the Open University. It brought together academics from anthropology, archaeology, musicology, psychology and philosophy to explore the nature of human imagination. The programme, abstracts, and biographies of the contributors are available online. This site provides background information, collections of links to relevant websites, guides to further reading, and other resources arranged around the themes of the symposium's sessions, and is intended both to give a flavour of the huge amount of material available and to stimulate those interested in looking further.
