Working with the Media: A view from the frontline

Tue 9 Nov 2010, 00:00

Venue
The British Academy

In his lecture, Professor Kennedy briefly examined what 'the media' might mean in the present-day world, and assumptions that are held, particularly by academics, about its role. He explored responses by the media to legal and ethical discourse about biomedicine and healthcare over the past few decades. In doing so, Professor Kennedy drew on his own experiences as someone who has often been in the 'front line'.

The lecture formed part of the British Academy-supported conference 'Medical Law and Ethics in the Media Spotlight' (held 8-9 November 2010 at the British Academy).

Speaker:
Professor Sir Ian Kennedy FBA
