Writing from a feminist perspective and out of feminist concerns, she has made important contributions to the theory of liberal democracy in its full concerns. In her work political theory relates closely to the empirical world - e.g. she is currently engaged in a Nuffield Project studying the tensions between sexual and cultural equality the British courts.
