He works with literary and religious texts written in Akkadian from the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC to the end of the cuneiform tradition around the time of Christ, ranging from astrology through divination and liturgical works to the Epic of Gilgamesh. His work, which includes a definitive edition of the Epic of Gilgamesh, includes the identification and decipherment of unpublished original texts, preparation of editions, translations and commentaries, and writing synthetic studies.
