Dr Lisbet Rausing
Senior Research Fellow, Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine at Imperial College; and Chair of the Lisbet Rausing Charitable Trust

She is one of the most important academic philanthropists in the United Kingdom. She works with various charitable foundations and boards, including the Lisbet Rausing Charitable Fund, established in 2001, which has already made grant commitments totalling some £37,000,000. Her sponsored programmes reflect and embody her wish to encourage advanced research and to preserve fundamental knowledge (linguistic and historical) for future generations. In addition, she has attained serious academic distinction in the history of science in her own right.
