Professor Rachel Griffith Deputy Research Director, Institute for Fiscal Studies; Professor of Economics, University College London (S2) Applied economic analysis of the impact of government policy on economic performance; competition, innovation and productivity; firm pricing behaviour; consumer shopping patterns and nutrition Rachel Griffith is currently a Deputy Research Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) and Professor of Economics at University College London. She is a director of the Review of Economic Studies, on the Executive Committee of the European Economic Association, on the Council of the Royal Economic Society and a Research Fellow of CEPR. Her research considers the ways that government policies affect economic performance. Her specific interests lie in two main areas. One is in using micro data to better understand the global innovative activities of multinational firms. The other is investigating the links between food pricing, consumer behaviour and nutritional outcomes. Rachel grew up in Boston in the US. She came to the UK to study economics and has spent her professional career in London. She lives in North London and is an avid cyclist and runner. |
