Special Joint Project Programmes: Commonwealth Countries

Funds are available to support joint projects between UK-based academics and those based in Commonwealth institutions. The scheme is administered in partnership with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and information may be sought from either the ACU or the International Relations Department at the British Academy.

Level of award: Up to £5,000
Period of award: Up to one year
Closing date: 18 November 2009
Further information: Please view the Notes for Applicants

Method of application: Applications must be submitted via e-GAP2, the Academy's electronic grant application system.
Referees: All applications will be considered in the light of referees' comments. Two references are required for this scheme.  Your referee should be familiar with your project and able to comment on its significance and feasibility, and on your abilities. Please note that your referee should be drawn from outside your own employing institution and from outside the employing institution of your co-investigators. Failure to observe this rule will result in the application being ruled ineligible. (Scholars who have only very recently obtained postdoctoral status may, where necessary, be permitted to use an internal referee.)
