BASIS meetings

BASIS meets three times each year, in November, February and May. The February meeting determines allocations to sponsored organisations on the basis of an agreed Academy budget. 2010-11 meetings are scheduled for the afternoons of

10 November 2010,
23 February and
11 May 2011.

There is also a Forum meeting each November where representatives of the institutes and societies meet together with the BASIS committee members to discuss issues of mutual interest. The next Forum meeting is scheduled for 10 November 2010.

On 15 November 2007, a one-day conference entitled 'Evolving Societies' showcased the work of the sponsored organisations to an invited audience of policy-makers, funders and research leaders.

'Evolving Societies 2008', a focused showcase of research on contemporary migration and cultural heritage management, was held on 11 November 2008.
