Who we work with

The British Academy works with a wide range of partners, both in the UK and abroad, in developing and maintaining international relations, and promoting networking and collaboration between UK and overseas scholars.  

UK partners

We work with academies, research councils and other bodies to support research and enhance international collaboration. 

Sponsored institutes and societies

The Academy sponsors a number of overseas institutes, which provide support for UK scholars and complement the British diplomatic and cultural presence, and UK-based learned societies which enhance UK engagement with specific areas of the world.

Overseas Partners

We work with a wide range of overseas academies and institutions; with some we have agreements or memoranda of understanding, and with others long-standing fraternal connections.
