To celebrate the 2015: Year of Mexico in the UK the British Academy organised a public conference on 'Mexico at the start of the 21st Century' on Friday 20 November 2015, bringing together leading researchers from Mexico and the UK to discuss topics such as immigration, social protection, communities, inequality and the economy.


The speakers for the event were Professor Mercedes González de la Rocha, Professor Orazio Attanasio FBA, Professor Guillermo de la Peña, Professor John Gledhill FBA, Professor Enrique Cárdenas Sánchez, Professor Kevin Middlebrook, Professor Agustín Escobar Latapí, Professor Gareth Jones, and Professor Lourdes Arizpe Schlosser.
