T S Eliot's Daughter

Robert Crawford Marina Warner
Lecture by
Robert Crawford, Professor of Modern Scottish Literature, University of St Andrews. Commentator: Marina Warner, Professor in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies, University of Essex

Robert Crawford re-examines the importance of T S Eliot, concentrating on 'Marina' in which a man invokes his daughter, arguing that the poem can be read as part of Eliot's wider engagement with children and childlessness.

Listeners may find it useful to have a text of 'Marina' to hand.
