Terms of reference

The terms of reference for the IT Committee are:

• to advise Council, through the Management Advisory Committee, on the Academy’s IT strategy as formulated by the IT Manager in conjunction with the Director of Administration and the Secretary, and in particular on the resources required and on priorities for implementation of major systems, so that the Academy’s aims and objectives can best be met;
• to advise on how best to maximise the potential of the Academy’s website, both for the Academy’s own information purposes and for the benefit of the wider research community in the humanities and social sciences.
• to advise the Communications and Activities Committee on the ways in which IT can be used to promote and enhance public understanding of scholarship and learning in the humanities and social sciences;
• to advise Council and other Academy committees on issues which may arise concerning the use of IT in the humanities and social sciences;

The Chief Executive/Secretary is ex officio a member of all Academy committees
