British Academy

Management Advisory Committee

The Management Advisory Committee makes recommendations to Council on the Academy’s objectives, policies and procedures; co-ordinates and monitors the work of the Academy, at the operational level, especially progress towards its objectives. It advises the Treasurer and the Chief Executive and Secretary on the conduct and management of the Academy’s administrative and financial business, and reports on them to Council.  It oversees the arrangements for the employment and remuneration of the Academy’s staff, and decides on any other matters specifically delegated to it from time to time by Council.

Terms of reference

Its terms of reference are:

  • to make recommendations to Council on the Academy’s objectives, policies and procedures;
  • to co-ordinate and monitor the work of the Academy, at the operational level, especially progress towards its objectives;
  • to advise the Treasurer and the Secretary on the conduct and management of the Academy’s administrative and financial business, and to report on them to Council;
  • to oversee the arrangements for the employment and remuneration of the Academy’s staff;
  • to decide on any other matters specifically delegated to it from time to time by Council.

The Chief Executive/Secretary is ex officio a member of all Academy committees
