Cultural heritage in Iraq must not be neglected, says British Academy
The British Academy has joined forces with a number of leading cultural heritage organisations to call on the Committee of Inquiry into Iraq to include the problems faced by British forces in safeguarding cultural heritage in Iraq in their investigation. In a letter to the Chair of the Inquiry, Sir John Chilcot, the organisations expressed their concern over the damage and loss inflicted on museums, libraries, archives and archaeological sites within the country.More information is available in the press release from the United Kingdom Commission for UNESCO
