The Government has published a Decentralisation strategy document to accompany the Localism Bill (Decentralisation and the Localism Bill: an essential guide), and evidence to inform this agenda will continue to be considered over the coming months. To help contribute to the debate, the British Academy Forum sought to outline the principles of decentralisation and ask: How can we maximise the impact of such a strategy on economic growth? How do we ensure that we achieve fair outcomes across communities and places?
