Research and higher education policy activities focus on issues that affect humanities and social science (HSS) research.

16 July 2010: Investing in excellence: The needs and contribution of the UK research base

The British Academy has submitted advice to Professor Adrian Smith on the future of UK research in light of the Spending Review.

Research and higher education policy can be divided in to the following themes:

• Research Assessment and Funding
  Includes the British Academy's response to HEFCE's recent consultation on the Research Excellence Framework.
• Research Capacity and Environment
  Includes the Academy's contribution to the BIS Postgraduate Review, and the report Language Matters.
