British Academy

ISSN 0068-1202

Since 1905 this series has provided a unique record of British scholarship in the humanities and social sciences — by publishing the highly regarded Academy lectures, and through its memoirs of the lives and achievements of deceased Fellows of the Academy. The current Editor of the annual Lectures and Memoirs volumes is Professor Ron Johnston, FBA.

Since 1992 the series has included thematic volumes stemming from symposia specially convened to address particular subjects.

Volumes are published by Oxford University Press. Some older volumes are available from Oxbow Books.

Preparation of papers
Publication in the Proceedings of the British Academy is by invitation alone.
