Proceedings of the British Academy

Notes on preparing a paper for publication

  • Publication in the Proceedings of the British Academy is by invitation alone, and is subject to relevant editorial procedures.
    Unsolicited papers are not accepted.
  • Extended obituaries of deceased Fellows of the British Academy are published in the annual Memoirs volume.
  • Papers given at British Academy conferences are published in dedicated thematic volumes.
  • The texts of lectures given as part of the Academy's formal lecture programme up to 2009 used to be published in an annual Lectures volume: the 2009 Lectures volume was the last annual volume of lectures in the Proceedings series. For Academy lectures delivered in 2010 onwards, appropriate means of dissemination will be discussed with individual lecturers.
