The Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland is an online record of all the stone sculpture produced between c.1066 and c.1200 in Great Britain and Ireland. This sculpture marks a high point of artistic production in these islands, corresponding to the boom in high-quality building that followed the Norman Conquest, and reflecting a new set of links with mainland Europe. A good deal remains in parish churches and cathedrals, castles and museums, and much important sculpture is prey to deterioration. The CRSBI is accessible through a searchable text and image database, currently available and in ongoing development.
