The publication of ‘The Correspondence of Robert Boyle’ in six volumes in August 2001 represents the triumphant completion of the project – conceived in 1989 and adopted as a British Academy Research Project in 1996 – for an edition of all extant to and from the scientist, religious writer and philanthropist, Robert Boyle (1627-91). Professor Michael Hunter, director of the project, describes the work.
