The International Engagement Committee (IEC) takes a strategic overview of the Academy's international engagement, relations, programmes and activities. It sets priorities for international work, ensures synergies across different aspects of international engagement and champions the international dimension across the full range of the Academy's work. The IEC draws on the expertise of the Committee for British Academy-Sponsored Institutes and Societies, and on a number of panels which advise on issues relating to different geographical areas. These currently cover: the Middle East and North Africa; Sub-Saharan Africa; China; East and Southeast Asia; South Asia; Latin America and the Caribbean; and Europe.
