British Academy Review Autumn issue (No. 31) out now

The British Academy has published the Autumn issue (No. 31) of the British Academy Review.

In this issue, which focusses on the future of research collaboration and funding post-Brexit, Ash Amin FBA and Philip Lewis take a look at why Brexit matters for the humanities and social sciences, Robert Frost FBA looks at the history of unions, nations and states in Europe through the prism of the Poland-Lithuania union, and Professor Ian Diamond FBA looks ahead to the skills the UK will need to navigate its post-Brexit future.

Elsewhere, psychologist and broadcaster Claudia Hammond talks Radio 4’s All in the Mind and government policy on mental health, Dr Kayleigh Garthwaite speaks about her book Hunger Pains: Life Inside Foodbank Britain and economist Rachel Griffith examines how public policy affects food choices and obesity.

There’s also an interview with new British Academy President Professor Sir David Cannadine, who talks about what may lie ahead during his term as the Academy’s ‘Brexit President’, as well his new book on 19th Century Britain, Victorious Century.

The British Academy Review magazine contains articles illustrating the wide range of scholarship which the British Academy promotes in its role as the UK’s national academy for the humanities and social sciences.
