Inaugural lecture from Sir John Cass Foundation and the British Academy

16 Apr 2013

This Thursday (18 April 2013) sees the launch of the new Sir John Cass's Foundation lecture series at the British Academy. Professor Andrew Pettigrew FBA will give the inaugural lecture introducing the field of Business and Management research by exploring one of its central questions. In ‘Can leaders make a difference to organisational performance?’ Professor Pettigrew will consider what is known and not known about the links between leadership, change and organisational performance. He will also argue the biggest leadership challenges for the future lie not just in the familiar territory of institutional change, but the much more difficult area of changing large, complex systems.

The lecture series is the result of a gift  from the Sir John Cass’s Foundation, which complements the Foundation’s generous support for Small Research Grants in Education and in Business Management Studies.
