President launches Mond Legacy Society

4 Nov 2014

On Tuesday 28 October 2014, at the British Academy's 3rd annual Legacy Lunch, the President, Lord Stern of Brentford, announced the establishment of the Frida Mond Society. The Society was formed to recognise the generosity of all those who have expressed the intention to leave a gift to the Academy in their will, and is named after Frida Mond, one of the earliest benefactors of the British Academy.

Frida Mond (née Löwenthal) was a generous supporter of the Academy during her lifetime and established the Israel Gollancz Memorial Lectures through a gift in her will in 1923.

The British Academy welcomes gifts of all kinds from Fellows and others who support its work. The Academy is a member of the National Free Wills Network, which enables us to offer a free 'simple' will-writing service via participating local solicitors.
