Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, welcomed the report saying, "one of the things that I love about the British Academy's purposeful corporation is that it doesn't say the corporation is the problem, or capitalism is the problem. It encourages you to shape it. You have to focus on your solution, not your problem." He added that "businesses are really good at moving towards revenue, profitability, and simple metrics aligning to that. If we can align that interest to the sustainable development goals, climate, and social goods as a way of doing it, then that's something we can make work."

He also reflected from his practical experience on how he thought the tech sector could apply purpose in their businesses. He started by saying that technology is having an effect on the world, and he explained that to be able to have that effect in a manner that is beneficial for society, regulators have to "think about the dashboard needed to have a more positive social impact because then it's measurable. Purposeful metrics [are] a certain future."
