African Urban Futures

These workshops will be open to Africa-based early career scholars in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. While the disciplinary background of participants will be wide, the workshop’s focus on African urban futures will facilitate knowledge exchange within definable scholarly networks, ie ‘urban studies’. The workshops will offer frank advice and critical feedback on the process of turning manuscripts into publishable and original research articles. They will be designed to provide early career academics with a realistic and practical approach to publishing in the most competitive and highly-ranked journals on urban studies while also building research capacity among the scholarly community fostered and maintained by the British Institute in East Africa through its local partnerships.
